With the success Travco achieved in the 2006
rally, as the official travel partner in the
International Cross Country Rally, the leading
leisure company in Egypt announces that the
International Cross Country Rally of the
Pharaons 2007 gets underway from September 29th
till October 7th, 2007, under the patronage of
the Minister of Tourism Mr. Zohair Garannah.
Marking the 10th JVD International Cross Country
Rally, the race will start from Cairo heading
off to the western desert’s Oases. This year,
Rally of The Pharaons 2007 gets more challenging
and exciting as the phases face more rocky
terrains and a longer range than ever. Due to
the success of last year’s Rally, JVD
International renews its confidence in Travco as
the official travel partner for this year’s
event. Travco has always been keen on sponsoring
such international events to further enhance the
Egyptian tourism market and promote Egypt as one
of the top destinations on the sports tourism
map. This year, the rally promises to be a
longer and a more exciting adventure than the
International Cross Country Rally of the
Pharaons 2006. This year, JVD International
S.R.L enriches their fans experience with the
extended drive in the Egyptian desert, over 70
metres-high dunes, majestic canyons,
extraordinary pinnacles of sand, and soothing
oases. Travco is now actively engaging in the
pre-event travel arrangements to ensure a smooth
flow of all the contestants and the accompanying
delegations’ travel related affairs guaranteeing
an unmatched reception of the convoy from
beginning till end.

The
first stage of the 2950 km- long race will start
at the Sphinx on September 30th pushing south to
Baharia. From there, the rally’s second stage
begins, heading to Sitra. The rally’s third
stage is from Sitra to Siwa and the forth stage
is from Siwa back to Sitra. From Sitra,
participants race to Baharia in the fifth stage
and back to Cairo again in the sixth stage,
where they reach the rally’s final stage and
race back to Giza on October 6th, 2007 to end
the rally followed by the final ceremony to
announce winners. Launched in 1982, Jacky Icks,
Vincenzo Lancia and
Daniele Cotto, famous rally pilots, converted
their passion for engines and adventures into
JVD international organization for rally
competitions in1998, where great performances,
unspoilt nature experiences and true adventures
are combined. By
2000, this competition became credited by the
FIM Tout Terrain World Championship and has
since gained the eminence in which it stands
today as the most recognized Rally. |
