Marsa Alam International airport, built by M.A. Kharafi Group of Kuwait, and has been in operation since 2001, is currently on its way to extend the international arrival hall, and this process should be completed by March of 2008. Marsa Alam International Airport can currently receive international flights of big capacities as the runway is over 3 kilometers long. Consequently, this makes Marsa Alam International Airport the first BOT airport in Egypt. The group is also building an international marina at Port Ghalib, which is also expected to be officially operating by March of 2008.
