The Swiss hotel company has just signed a management agreement with the owning company Integrated Development and Tourism Investment (IDTI) for two upscale hotel projects in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Both holiday resorts are already under construction and are scheduled to open by 2008 and 2009.

The 5-star Mövenpick Resort & Spa Sharm El Sheikh will open in summer 2008 over a total surface area of 103,000 sqm. The resort with its 327 spacious rooms and suites, including 30 luxury apartments, is a mere 7 km to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, and the centre of Sharm El Sheikh is 15 km away. The culinary choice consists of 3 restaurants and 4 bars, as well as a discotheque. Additionally, it includes 5 swimming pools, tennis courts, a multi purpose court, beach volleyball, a fitness centre, a diving centre, a span and health club, a ballroom and a business centre.
Only 7 km from Sharm El Sheikh down town area, is the Mövenpick Resort Um El Sied, which is scheduled to open in spring 2009. The 268 modern rooms are 30 to 36 sqm in size. The culinary offer and the choice of swimming pools are molded on those of its sister hotel. This resort will also cater for Mövenpick's youngest guests, with a Kids' Club, a Teenager Camp and a special children's restaurant, as well as sports activities, scuba diving, an open air theatre, 3 meeting rooms and a business centre.
