Hesham Zaazou, assistant to the Minister of
Tourism, announced that Arab investment in
the tourism sector in Egypt has exceeded 83
billion pounds. He said that these
investments will increase during the coming
period with the establishment of different
tourism oriented projects, like shopping
malls, companies for tourism transportation,
restaurants, and hotels.
In a press conference held in Kuwait, Zaazou
pointed out that the number of Arab tourists
visiting Egypt during the last year has
reached about 2 million. He also said that
the number of tourist nights during the same
year was 26.2 million nights.
Zaazou said that the Egyptian tourism trail
to Kuwait was organized for many reasons;
firstly to show how much Egypt values its
relations with Kuwait,
secondly, the importance of increasing the
number of Kuwaiti tourists visiting Egypt,
and finally to identify the new Egyptian
capacities in the tourism sector.
