Camel Festival Takes Place in South Sinais

Due to take place this month in Sharm El Sheikh, the annual Camel Festival is a highly anticipated event. Tourists and locals alike gather around to witness this one-of-a-kind race. Many think camels are just the slow-moving plodders of the animal world; in fact, these hump-backed creatures actually provide some of the speediest and bumpiest racing there is.

Though the novice camel-rider is perhaps safest merely observe during this festival, it is without a doubt a sight to behold. If you're in Sharm El Sheikh for some diving, it is worth surfacing to witness an equally spectacular, though slightly less serene, example of nature in action.

With over 250 camels from 17 different Egyptian tribes, this will be something of a large-scale event, and the races promise to be thrilling.
